Established by legislation proclaimed by the Government of Manitoba on November 24, 2003, our authority stands as one of four entities entrusted with overseeing and coordinating the vital delivery of child and family services by agencies across the province.

Our Mission Statement

The First Nations of Northern Manitoba Child and Family Services Authority is dedicated to supporting and empowering First Nation child and family services agencies in northern Manitoba. Our mission is to enhance and enrich family life by working collaboratively with our partner agencies and communities.

We strive to provide comprehensive support and resources to agencies, enabling them to deliver culturally appropriate and effective services to First Nation children and families. Through our guidance, capacity-building initiatives, and collaborative efforts, we aim to strengthen the capacity of the agencies to meet the unique needs of their communities.

Our mission is rooted in the belief that every child deserves a safe and nurturing environment where they can thrive. Our Vision Statement

The First Nations of Northern Manitoba Child and Family Services Authority envisions a future where First Nation Elders, parents, and extended family members in Northern Manitoba fully reclaim their traditional and inherent roles, embracing and honoring their sacred responsibilities to all children.

We strive to create a society where First Nation communities flourish, guided by the wisdom and teachings of our Elders. By revitalizing and restoring the traditional roles of Elders, parents, and extended family members, we aim to create a nurturing and supportive environment where children are connected to their cultural heritage and surrounded by love, guidance, and a sense of belonging.

Our vision is to see families and communities actively involved in the well-being and upbringing of every child. We recognize the vital importance of cultural continuity and the intergenerational transfer of knowledge and values. By honoring these sacred responsibilities, we seek to instill a strong cultural identity, resilience, and pride in our children.
